Ukrainian beneficiaries of temporary protection, are now eligible to join the HELIOS project

Citizens of Ukraine who left their country as a result of the war and sought shelter in Greece can now join the HELIOS integration program. Ukrainians, beneficiaries of temporary protection, who will participate in the program are entitled to a rent subsidy from 6 to 12 months and will be able to receive the benefits offered by HELIOS such as Greek language courses, employment support, and counseling services, and acquisition of social skills.

With this decision of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, our country meets the provisions of the European Directive on the fundamental pillar of housing in the integration of all beneficiaries of international protection and recognized refugees. Finding and securing housing is the basic step for entering the labor market, smooth integration into the local community, and independent and dignified living.

Since early 2020, the OMNES association operates an Integration Learning Center in the heart of the city of Kilkis, on Moskof Street 8 within the framework of the HELIOS project, where all these services are provided.

Ukrainians who wish to remain in Greece can come daily to the Integration Learning Center from 9:00-15:00-Monday to Friday, to receive information and register for the program. For further information, they can call the following numbers: 23410 28383 & 6956200944.

From the very first days of the war, the mobilization of the OMNES association was immediate. By providing nursing services, legal assistance, psychosocial support, Greek language courses, and fundamental necessities, it supports families living in Kilkis Prefecture.

OMNES is a partner of SolidarityNow in the framework of the HELIOS project implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM Greece), with the support of the Ministry of Migration & Asylum.
