Position Summary
The social worker will work in the Inclusion Centre of OMNES with the objective to provide support to vulnerable individuals and families, identifies vulnerable cases among refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and locals. The social worker provides support to people interacting with the public services, refers cases to Public Social Services and the Lawyer of OMNES, conducts weekly FGDs on topics related to the integration of the beneficiaries in the Greek society, empowers the beneficiaries towards livelihoods, links people to job opportunities. The social worker is part of the interdisciplinary team of the OMNES Inclusion Centre and keeps close collaboration with the team members by performing joint activities and needs assessments of the beneficiaries of the project.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of the beneficiaries promptly reporting concerns or incidents to OMNES management;
Contribute to the development of proposal activities in relation to legal and health assistance;
Keep all case management files updated and secured, according to the Data Protection and Information sharing Protocols in place;
Complete all reports in a timely manner;
Participate in case conferences, working groups, ad hoc workshops, and thematic training when required;
Planning and supervising the development, implementation, and monitoring of standard operating procedures, in relation to protection mechanisms and activities;
Providing advice and guidance on protection related issues and ensuring proper documentation and follow up;
Conducts (or advises on) best interest/risks/needs assessments;
Identifies protection gaps and interventions and refers accordingly;
Facilitates communication and cooperation with social services and authorities and prepares relevant documentation;
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the adolescents and enable and develop IRC programs;
Required qualifications and skills
Technical diploma or degree in social work, including license to practice;
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in social work, case management, in the humanitarian field
Previous experience in Community Based Protection is highly desirable;
Previous experience in group work with vulnerable persons and families is desirable
Extensive knowledge of community mobilization tools and mechanisms
Advanced research and writing skills – experience with Focus Group Discussions and qualitative research methodologies focusing the perspective of communities’ most vulnerable members
Fluency in Greek and English is required

Strong sense of personal integrity;
Strong negotiation and coordination skills;
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment;
Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people;
Computer skills: Knowledge of MS Office, Internet, Outlook and competency with new technologies required
